R P Banga gave melodious musical song in the beginning of the program.
Then Bharat Desai introduced two seniors R Parthasarthy and Dr R M Mathur.
Dr R M Mathur, Major General, continued his talk on 'The Indo-China border conflict of 1962, wherein he mentioned the reasons of India's reverses then. He also described the adverse weather under which our army fought out the said battle. However he added that instead of positive support Indian army then received very sarcastic comments from some of the Indian political leaders.He quoted the incident between Indira Gandhi,former Prime minister and former chief of army Sam Manechshow wherein she had complied with the strategic advise of the army chief during the Bangladesh War. However he concluded that Indian army had learnt the lessons from the 1962 reverses and we have now overcome all those drawbacks in order to face any eventuality with chines in future.
R Parthasarthy was sorry that human values have deteriorated in the society. Therefore he said that we should give more importance to intelligent, courage, discipline and character. Besides that love, mercy, and human relationship are the factors which are important for bringing up the human values. He concluded that with proper education, good reading and going back to our cultural heritage we can further improve the human values.
Thereafter Bharat Desai introduced the Guest Speaker Dr Munjalkant Dwiwedi who gave very interesting and informative talk on' The Good Health through Vastusashtra'. He said Principles of 'Vastushastra' are also quoted in our Purana. Its principles are scientific and logical. He said Sun rays, and clean air are always necessary for Healthy life. Therefore the situation of door, widows, kitchen, Master Bedroom, etc are very much important for well being of people living in the said House. He explained the 'Vastusashtra' with the help of various types of Maps of the Houses.He said all window should be opened in the morning for some time for healthy atmosphere of the House. Besides that it is good if main door is facing on the North side and the Master Bedroom may be on the South West. He added that even kitchen may be on Southwest. The favorable situation of the kitchen may help the people living in the house Healthy. In short by observing positive principles of 'Vastusashra' will bring Happiness, Prosperity, Healthy life.
Thereafter Bharat Desai introduced a Guest Artist Mitun Bhattacharjee, a budding Indian Classical Music Artist. She presented Classical, Semi classical, Music including few Devotional Songs. Her musical presentation was received very well.
M L Swamy complimented for very interesting and informative talk. He also congratulated a guest Speaker and a Guest Artist for their very good presentations. He congratulated Bharat Desai for arranging such nice program. He also proposed a vote of thanks at the end.

ICC Hosts Current Events Programs
The India Community Center recently hosted two “Current Events” programs May 5 and June 2 in Cupertino, Calif. Bharat Desai coordinated both the programs and introduced the guest speakers. R.K. Garg, Madhusudan Thatte and R.M. Mathur spoke at the event on May 5.

Garg spoke about the Indian judicial system and Thatte shared his own experiences of Mumbai, India, in the area of work ethics. Mathur, a former major General in the Indian army, presented slides of the old historical maps of the northern Indian border with China.

Pragna Dadbhawala briefed the audience regarding the recent “Gujarat Day” celebrations and made a presentation on the economic developments in Gujarat, India. In the concluding remarks, V.K. Dorairaj thanked the guests and the audience.

Mathur continued his talk on “The Indo-China Border Conflict of 1962” at the event on June 2. R. Parthasarthy spoke about the cultural heritage of India while guest speaker Dr. Munjalkant Dwiwedi gave a talk on “Good Health through Vastusashtra.” A budding Indian classical music artist, Mitun Bhattacharjee, presented a concert at the event, while M.L. Swamy proposed a vote of thanks.
