CURRENT EVENTS AS ON 6TH NOVEMBER, 06, MONDAY
AT INDIA COMMUNITY CENTER, SUNNYVALE

The above Program was inaugurated with devotional song by Bharat Desai.
Thereafter A NanarayanswamI talked regarding the latest development on forthcoming partial election of American Congress and Senate. He also discussed Iraq and said that America has also objectives to spread democracy in Iraq. However some people have stared thinking in terms of partition of Iraq due to on going sectarian violence. He also discussed Middle East problems including nuclear weapons problem with Iran and North Korea. He said it appears that security of America is reducing in context of world’s political situation.
Sanat Desai said that India is flourishing with foreign investments in the sphere of Automobile, High tech Industries etc. He further stated that following foreign blue chips companies are investing in Indian industries
1) Microsoft- $41.7 billion,
2) Cisco-$1 million,
3) Motorola- $70million and
4) DMV/Hyundai/Suzuki- $1.5 billion
He also gave brief idea regarding mode of moderate individual investment in the flourishing Stock Market.
Kanu Shah gave humorous talk on Indian politicians. It was received very well.
H Tyagrajan gave talk on the progressing economy of China. However he said there is lot of resentment and protest from the people within china. He said that in health care sector the china has increase the individual average longevity to 82 years but their per capita GDP is still within $1000/-. He further added for information that common man in China does not know English.
The Guest Speaker/Artist KRS Murthy was welcomed and introduced by Bharat Desai.
Thereafter KRS Murthy briefly explained about classical music. He presented his owned composed Ragas/Tunes like Durga, Malkoush, Dipak etc. He also presented Chines tunes. It was very well appreciated and received by the members.
Ramji Patel, Satish Gadadkar, A Narayanaswami, Prema Santhnam also participated in the discussion.
Akur Srinivasan proposed vote of thanks and Bharat Desai Co-ordinated and composed the program.

Sunnyvale ICC Reviews Current Events

The India Community Center of Sunnyvale held its latest session of "Current Events" Nov. 6 at its center in Sunnyvale, Calif. The session started with a devotional song by Bharat Desai and continued with a talk by A. Nanarayanswami, who spoke on issues ranging from the latest U.S. elections to Middle East and North Korea foreign policy. Sanat Desai brought focus to current economic trends by highlighting the fact that foreign companies like Microsoft and Motorola are investing heavily in India. H. Tyagrajan shared his ideas on China based on his recent visit to the country.

Kanu Shah provided doses of humor by telling jokes about Indian politicians, while guest speaker and artist K.R.S. Murthy entertained attendees with his talk and musical performance.
