CURRENT EVENTS AS ON 3RD DECEMBER 07

Smt Raj Kumari offered prayer at the beginning of the program.
Thereafter C G Desai gave talk on 'The benefits for Seniors'. He also enlighten members regarding 'Health Trust' program of the Santa Clara County. It will be implemented early next year. It will convey information regarding Housing, leadership coordination, Senior Center and Supportive services thereon. He also pointed out that several communications are issued under'Medicare RX PLAN' to Seniors which are of confusing nature. Therefore it is necessary to form forum which can guide the Seniors suitably.A Narayanswamy further contributed in the discussion and stated that one may get lot of information regarding 'Medicare RX Plan 'by going on web site 'www.mymedicare.com'
He also cautioned Seniors that you will brake your residency if you are out of 'USA' for a long time. The result of that you may lose all benefits in spite of having Citizenship. C G Desai also said that all Green card holder Seniors are not entitle for those benefits due to cut off line of 08/22/1996 fixed under law.
A Narayanaswami gave talk on 'India's Growth, Reality or Myth'. Therein he gave Positive and Negative points of Indian Economy. He stated that India is the largest democracy in the world with the Third largest Arm forces. The Indian high tech industries of about $8.8 Billions are bringing millions of Dollars of Foreign Exchange. It has put Indian Economy into very comfortable position in respect of foreign Exchange Reserve.
We have prestigious educational schools and colleges with vast Young Manpower. Besides that we have entered into international market through company like 'Sulzon' which is offering alternate source of Energy(i.e. Windmill). In short Indian economy is booming with more Billioners then even Japan.
But he also pointed out that we are still lacking in the infrastructure of Roads, Airports, Ports and Educational Reforms. The Economical gap between Rural and Urban areas are also increasing. The result of it Rich are becoming more Rich leaving the Poor section where it is. He stressed that India also need to look after Educational Reforms,Health Care,and Increasing of Export.
Thereafter Mrs Sastry welcomed Gopi Godhwani, a Guest Speaker, Chairperson, India Community Center with flower Buckie and Bharat Desai introduced her.
She gave talk on'The vision of ICC for Seniors'. She described how the 'ICC' was build up for the American Indian Community? She added that it has now become cultural place for all religions. She added that rich,and poor all are taken care equally at India Community Center. Besides that she gave information regarding free 'Health Clinic' at ICC,Milpitas for those community members who are not having Health Insurance. she appealed all members to help in the endeavor to built up strong India community center.
Gopi Godhwani also answered questions of members at the end.
Smt Parimal Gandhi a Guest Artist was also welcomed by Smt Jaysreeben Vasavada and introduced by Bharat Desai.
Then Smt Parimal presented melodious Classical and Semi Classical Music including Songs and Bhajans. It was received very well by members.
S V Sastry proposed vote of thanks wherein he congratulated participants C G Desai, A Narayanaswami, Guest Speaker/Artist for very interesting session. He also appreciated the efforts put by Bharat Desai for co-ordinating and composing the program.
