Varsha Desai presented devotional song ‘Vaisanav Jan To En Kahie’ in the beginning of the program. It was song, which was very dear to Mahatma Gandhi a father of nation. Bharat Desai gave due tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadure Sastry,(former prim minister of India) as their birthday falls on 2nd October 09.
There after Bharat Desai introduced T P Subramanian and Bhikhubhai Patel who were to give talk.
T P Subramanian gave talk on ‘America-Is ready for change?’ wherein he gave information regarding various steps taken by Barrack Obama for the changes. He added that Barrack Obama administration took serious actions regarding the dishonest practices, Housing crisis, Collapses of several major Banks, Unemployment, and Dishonest Corporate mismanagement. However there is resistance against all those actions i.e. one or in other form.
Besides that on war front there is no peace in Iraq and Afghan war is going worse. Even health care reforms are being also targeted. The drug companies, Doctors, Insurance companies, and Politicians are fighting the proxy war. It appears that these resistances may be for status quo. However it raise questions regarding whether America is ready for strict regulations for fuel efficient Car? Or For affordable Health Care? Or For controlling Carbon Emission? ? Or For controlling frauds, or for decreasing waste?
Barrack Obama is being branded as Socialist in the certain section, which is considered to be adverse in American concept of ideology.
America is also facing difficult problem of illegal immigrants. The American foreign policy has created lot of contempt for America in the Muslim world. It appears that congress and senate also opposes certain measures and president has little control over them. In short Barrack Obama has to take very strong and decisive actions in order to bring changes. However it is to be seen whether there is positive will of Americans people to support it?
The invited Guest Bhikhubhai also gave details regarding chronology of Biblical history and ancient Indian history. He added that Indian civilizations of Mohan Jodero, Harrappa, are older then Christ period but western historians had doctored in their fevour by involving the theory of Aryan and Dravidian. He concluded that all Hindus are Aryan with power of knowledge. Thereafter Chandravadan Desai, and B K Rao also took part in the discussion.
T C (Thanh) Nguyen and Swamini from ‘On Lok Lifeways’ presented the details of service offered to the seniors by their organization.
Satish Gadagkar presented few devotional songs on violin at the end of the program. It was received very well
